فكرة وإنتاج: نور الشقروني
This short film is about the acute water shortages in the town of Yfren, in the Libyan Nafusa Mountains.
Idea, filming and editing: Nour Shagrouni
The report covers the main reasons behind the water crisis in the city of Yfren through interviews with some locals who have been affected by this crisis, and presenting their suggestions for possible solutions. It also provided a general overview of the water issue in the whole of Libya.
The Objective is to attract attention to tackle the city's water and sewage problems, and to raise citizens awareness of the issues involved.
Most of the local population seem to have become accustomed to the crisis and have forgotten its causes leading to the assumption that the shortages and high prices had become a natural phenomena they have to endure it because they could not do anything about it.
This film was the result of a project organized and sponsored by the Libyan Center for Democracy and Human Rights (LCDHR) to produce short films concerned with the support and protection of human rights in Libyan cities, in cooperation with the local organization Salit.
